Three Generations, One Barbershop
The Family
Three generations cut hair in the same room. Sammi owns and runs the shop, her son Anthony cuts beside her, and her mom Cindy is right there too. Her dad Richard opened the place over 30 years ago. He is retired down in Florida now, but when he comes back to town, he picks up the clippers. Some clients have been in this chair since Richard opened it. Some are getting their first haircut this week.

Samantha "Sammi" Rosso
Owner and Master Barber
A licensed master barber who was practically born with clippers in her hand. Barbering runs deep in her family on both sides. She is one of the few barbers left doing a true classic gentleman's cut, straight razor and all. After years honing her craft, including running her own shop in Buffalo's Lovejoy neighborhood, Sammi came home to carry on the family tradition at the shop her parents built. She keeps things simple: walk-ins welcome, no appointment needed, and a chair ready for every age from toddlers to seniors. Whether it is a sharp classic cut or a fresh modern style, Sammi treats every client like neighborhood family, because that is exactly what they are.

Anthony Malczewski
Third-Generation Barber
Anthony is proof the family tradition is alive and cutting strong. As a third-generation barber, he is following right in the footsteps of his mom and grandparents, bringing fresh energy to a shop built on old-school values. Bring him a screenshot. He cuts the TikTok fades and trending styles people come in asking for, and he learned classic barbering from his mom and grandmother, so he is just as sharp on a traditional cut. Come see him for a look that is on-trend today and built to last.

Cindy Rosso-Montanino
Barber and Family Matriarch
Cindy is where it all started. A master barber with over four decades behind the chair, she is the one who first showed Sammi that this trade could be a life's calling. Known around Kenmore for her steady hands and warm, no-nonsense style, Cindy has spent her career building the kind of loyal, everybody-knows-your-name clientele that only comes from doing right by people for years on end. She is still cutting hair alongside her family today.

Richard Rosso
Founding Barber
Richard is the man who planted the roots. He has been cutting hair for over five decades and built the shop into the trusted community institution it is today, employing and mentoring other barbers along the way. He is retired down in Florida now, but when he comes back to town, he picks up the clippers. His steady hand and old-school values are the foundation that Sammi Red's still stands on.
Want a specific barber? Pick one when you join the line. Richard only shows up in the dropdown when he is back in town and on duty, so you will not see him most days.
Community Recognition
Recognition
Joe DeCecco Memorial Foundation Small Business Improvement Grant
Sammi Red's was selected as the recipient of the $10,000 Small Business Improvement Grant for the 2026 cycle, going toward renovating the shop. The Joe DeCecco Memorial Foundation honors Joe DeCecco, a Village of Kenmore trustee and Lackawanna teacher who passed in 2024. The foundation funds scholarships for Lackawanna High School students and grants for small businesses in the Village of Kenmore. Only one business receives the grant per cycle, and we are honored to have been chosen.
Family-Owned Business of the Year
Awarded by the Kenmore-Tonawanda Chamber of Commerce. This award recognizes a family-owned business that shows a commitment to excellence, community impact, and long-term success while keeping strong family values at the heart of how things run. Three generations in the same shop, 37 years on Elmwood Ave. We are proud and grateful to be recognized by the community we love.
